To celebrate the start of our partnership with Dark Woods Coffee, they’ve taken over our whole coffee board, with both espresso and both filter options. We launched the board takeover with a cupping evening on Thursday 8 October, which was really well attended and enjoyed by all (probably helped by some craft beer from BAD Brewing and Distilling Company and great music from The Flying Pianist).
The current coffees are:
Brazil Fazenda Passeio – a gorgeous pulped natural 100% catuai coffee grown by Adolfo Vieira Ferreira in the Sul de Menas region. Notes of hazelnut and milk chocolate with a soft grape acidity on the finish.
Colombia Finca San Pascual – a natural processed coffee with surprising flavour notes more usually associated with Ethiopian coffees such as blueberry and strawberry milkshake! This coffee is grown on the Santa Barbara Estate by Pedro Echavarria and his family.
Kenya Gondo AA (filter) – A fully washed coffee from the Murang’a region grown by the New Kiriti Farmers Co-op and with typical Kenyan notes of plum and blackcurrant.
We’ll be featuring more of Dark Woods’ coffees in the future. Their coffee knowledge and expertise is outstanding, so treat yourself and pop in and try!
